Keep my fluksometer up to date

Hi all,

I've one of the first V2 fluksometer. How to keep it up to date ?

Here my /etc/opkg.conf :

src/gz packages http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/backfire/10.03.1-RC5-testing/athe...
dest root /
dest ram /tmp
lists_dir ext /var/opkg-lists
option overlay_root /overlay

Can I use the last stable release of BackFire ?

Ho to upgrade flukso up to date too ?

opkg list-installed|grep flukso :
flukso - 2.0-beta-1

Thanks in advance,

Cyril Feraudet

Hi Cyril,

We can trigger a remote update of your FLM02 to the latest release (currently 214). The idea is to make this update capability available to you via the web site. While the core functionality is already present, it hasn't yet been exposed via the UI.

So for now, just honk, and I'll trigger it. Make sure your FLM is then online for the next couple of hours.

Cheers,
-Bart.

Hi Bart,

Please do it. My FLM is up.

What will be upgraded exactly, Flukso package only or all ?

Regards,

Cyril

Hi Cyril,

It's a full Linux + AVR firmware upgrade.

I successfully tested the procedure on a pre-production FLM before triggering the update on your FLM this morning. The upgrade seems to have failed however. I suspect this was due to a Linux OOM. The FL01xxxxxx pre-production batch had only 16MB of RAM iso the FL02xxxxxx's 32MB.

If possible, could you ssh into the FLM and make a dump of the syslog?

Cheers,
-Bart.

UPDATE: collectd was still running on the FLM, which probably caused the firmware download to fail due to a lack of free RAM. Upgrade to 214 has now succeeded.

Hi Bart,

I'm also interested in an update of my Flukso V2, in case there is any. The reason for this is that I experience lots of trouble with the wireless connection to my Linksys router running DD-WRT. The Flukso properly connects, but after some hours it disconnects. It reconnects after a reboot. I went to static IP address and WPA (instead of DHCP and WPA2), but no change.

The problem I have is that I cannot enter the serial of my Flukso V2 (FL020....): Your web interfaces just says "Please specify a valid serial number." The Flukso V2 was installed last week (Germany).

Thanks, Achim

Hi achim-e,

Could you send me your FLM's serial number via direct message or email?

Cheers,
-Bart.

Is the 'update' something others like me could use?

My Mk2 has been running a couple of months now. Occasional drop out.

Mine is on 24/7

Hi Bazzle,

Firstly, a 'drop out' doesn't necessarily mean there's something wrong with the FLM per se. This might as well point to some networking issue. When observing a drop out in sensor data, make sure to always check the FLM's heartbeat. If none has been reported during the last hour, then the issue is most likely related to networking.

Thet said, you FLM is running a v211 firmware. Just honk if you'd like the FLM's firmware to be upgraded to v214 and then make sure you leave it connected to the internet.

Cheers,
-Bart.

Hi Bart,

thanks for you email and sorry for the late reply. But first of all: Happy New Year!

I've checked if the Reply-Button below the messages is a private reply, but it isn't. So I have no idea how to send you a direct message ...

Cheers,
Achim
