Google PowerMeter

Before I start researching how exactly to use my Flukso with Google PowerMeter, has anybody actually started working on implementing this?

i just asking me the same question.

the integration into googles powermeter should not be that hard.
as far as i understood the powermeter api, you only have to do some REST requests..

anyway, when i receive a flukso, i will start working on a integration if nobody else do :)

Seemingly, when launching new API's, Google are expecting hockey-stick or exponential uptake of the service. If these expectations aren't fulfilled in a short time period, they kill it. Since sensor applications come with a hardware cost plus an installation burden, they will never be able to scale as quickly as pure software services like micro-blogging, calendars, maps, etc.

OTOH, the dream of each household generating negawatts is a compelling one, especially in the current context of a combined energy and ecological crisis. The fact that technology power houses like Google and Microsoft are not willing to keep even a small team of engineers experimenting with these promising, but incomplete technologies is quite sad. What topic will these engineers be reallocated to? 'Social'?

Cheers,
Bart.
