Realtime charting is not available on this Fluksometer. If you have an FLM02, then please upgrade to the latest firmware release

I have a new FLUKSO with serial number starting with FLO2, so I presume I have a FLM02. I am not very techno. I am not receiving any data on the internet and the globe LED is not on. When I click on the electricity tab on flukso it give me the following message: Real-time charting is not available on this Fluksometer. If you have an FLM02, then please upgrade to the latest firmware release on the my account -> devices page. How do I upgrade to the latest firmware release? I couldn't find a my account or devices page. Thanks. Mark

1/ The serial number does not indicate the device type. The model printed on the silver sticker does. And this will indeed be an FLM02A.
2/ Make sure the FLM is properly connected to the internet first. So the globe LED should definitely be lit. Consult the Fluksometer Manual to get the FLM hooked up to your home network.
3/ You've enabled the two pulse ports (4&5). This configuration can be seen on the server. So the FLM must have had internet connection when you saved the sensor page.
4/ You can schedule an FLM upgrade by logging into flukso.net and clicking on the cog wheels to get to your settings page. Then proceed to the devices tab and click on the upgrade link next to your FLM. The version will now show the latest available release with two asterisks. That means the device will get an update trigger during the next heartbeat it sends. Please do not power cycle the FLM while an upgrade is in progress.

Cheers,
-Bart.

Thanks. When I go to flukso.net on my computer I can't find the cog wheels to get to me to the settings page to find the upgrade. Also, if I want to make sure the FLM is not power cycling during the upgrade do I disconnect it from the meterbox during the upgrade process? Mark

The cog wheels can be found inside the black banner on the right. If you cannot see the cog wheels, you're probably using an old browser (IE6/7/8). Recommended browsers are recent versions of Chrome/Firefox/Safari/Opera/IE9.

No need to disconnect the FLM from the meterbox during an upgrade. Just leave it running as is.

Hi
I am also stuggling to find the update link ,i've tried on safari and chrome. I have done some research recently and managed to manually downgrade it from 215 to 214 not meaning too but then succesfully upgraded from 214 to 216. Also trying with a phtodiode to get an output to input 4 or 5, not going well at the moment.

There is no upgrade link on mine either.
Does it only show "if" one is available for each owner?

There was no link on mine when I was on firmware 215 , now on 216 , still no link.

An upgrade link will only be shown when your FLM's version is lower than the latest official release. Currently that's 215. We'll make 216 available shortly.

Thanks. I found the upgrade and completed it without any problems. However I still can't see any graphs - when I click the electricity, minute tab I get this error: Error - The call for sensor Solar experienced a timeout. You are probably not in the same local network as the FLM. I know the FLM is talking to the modem OK as the upgrade went fine and I can see on flukso.net the last heartbeat was today. On the FML the heartbeat LED is beating and the wireless LED is flashing slowly. Any suggestions how to get it working? Mark.

Does it work OK on the hour and day graph?
There is a fix for the minute one that Ive forgotten atm :(

Thanks. No it doesn't work on the hour or the day graph. I don't see nay graphs. However I only get the error "Error - The call for sensor Solar experienced a timeout. You are probably not in the same local network as the FLM" when I click on the minute tab.

I have also had this message , but not all the time, it works on my iPad , but not on my ubuntu netbook.

The server hasn't received a heartbeat in 4 hours. I guess you've turned off the FLM. That makes it impossible to perform any remote troubleshooting.

Cheers,
-Bart.

Hi Bart, the FLM and the modem have both been turned on contsantly since installation. I just had a look in the meter box and the heartbeat is beating, the globe LED was on and the wireless LED was blinking slowly. The globe LED is not on all the time, just sometimes. Thanks. Mark.

Thanks for the info on the LED status. With a good connection, the globe LED should be on all the time (with short blinks when connecting to the Flukso server). If it's only on intermittently, a flaky wifi connection might be the root cause.

Thanks. I have just had a look at my FML and the globe is currently on. When I click on the tabs for the electricity graphs (using google chrome) there are none there and when I click on the minute tab I get the error: "Error - The call for sensor Solar experienced a timeout. You are probably not in the same local network as the FLM". I would have thought that even if the wi-fi connection was intermittent there would still be some graph data, and if I clicked on the electricity tabs while the FML had a wi-fi connection (globe LED on) then I would see something. Also, while I have been staring at my FML hoping for it to work whlie the glode LED is on I have observed it flash which I presume means it is sending some data. So I have a couple of questions 1) Is it likely that my inability to have any graph data available for me entirely due to a flaky wi-fi connection or is there another problem related to installation process that is causing the problem (eg. could this happen if the electrician wired the mains & solar sensors in the incorrect ports [eg 4& 5 instead of 5 & 4] and 2) If it is related to a flaky wi-fi connection, how do I augment the signal between the FML and the modem so that it works better, or will have I have run the wires from the meter box through the house to the FML inside somewhere closer to the modem?
