Cannot get the Gasprobe to work on

Concerning the Fluksometer v2b (FLM02B) with the Gas probe (FLS02-F1):

I cannot get a single reading for GAS on the Actaris G4 RF1.
Can anyone tell how /where to put the sensor on this type of meter?
On the photo is how I tried it. Also with the sensor turned (text on the bottom) this is not getting ANY readings. The sensor is connected to port#4 and configured as Gas with constant 10. So far not a single reading is logged. Directly reading the sensor gives empty results: []
Anyone who can help me with this?

There is on this gasmeter 1 pulse per 100 litre, witch is a long time waiting to have a possible puls.
Have you tried detecting the magnet with a compass (with needle of smartphone) ?
I have same gasmeter, but don't detect a magnet. Thats why i used a optical sensor witch does the job very well, but then there must be a reflector on one of the digits....

just looked at your picture. your gas meter looks like an upside down version of the one I have.

Check the syslog tab and see if you are getting any pulses at all - my personal thoughts would be that the probe is not quite getting a reading. I would pull the probe back out through the hole at the top and as a test, come in via the left hand side (as your looking at the picture) bring the probe all the way along until it touches the right hand side of where it is in the photo and then push the left hand side all the way back.. Dont be too afraid at bending the cable either!

I had a similar issue with mine initially which was also a bit sporatic. I solved it by just pushing the probe further back into the recessed area.

I ended up turning the gas stove on, taking the laptop out to the gas meter and logging into the flukso whilst in front of the gas meter/prob. from there, pressing and holding the probe in different angles until I saw a pulse recorded by the flukso - this may be easier monitored by SSH'ing into the flukso

i have the same problem with the G4 RF1 (1p=0,01)
a compass does react when i put it on top of that hole.
with a (Nd) magnet i can generate pulses but nomather how i place the probe in that cavity
i do not get any pulse through.

i assume the compass will do a 360 turn when i'm using some gaz.
i could test that but i doubt i'd get a new meter if the compass should not react.

If you have a reflector in the red digits of your gasmeter, than a optical sensor detecting it, is a other way to log gas-consumption :D

For me the silver sticker is on the 6 of the last red dail. It now finally is detecting gas pulses.

Fyi: with these optical sensors one needs to turn the potmeter left until one of the 2 leds goes off. It should come on briefly when the silver sticker on the dail passes. If it doesn't: turn the potmeter a little bit more clockwise. It should be off when the silver sticker is not visible.
This is just for others that ordered the same sensor. It does not come with any documentation.

Does anyone know what to put in the last value field for this sensor for pulses from the very last wheel? I think it should be 0.001 but I am not 100% sure.

In the sensor settings you put in the case of a reflecting 0,001 m³ digits (= 1litre): 10 as constant factor, because the last wheel is giving pulses every turn and that's 10 x 0,001 m³ = 0,01 m³ or 10 litre.
Pulse sensors base constants are litre for gas and water, Wh for electricity.
