Questions about installing and configuring a Fluksometer.

Flukso rebooting every 15 minutes on the dot

My Flusko has been working flawlessly for years. Nothing has changed with its configuration, including the network hardware. However, on August 8th the device stopped displaying on the Flukso website. I thought there was a problem with the config. I took a look at it, rebooted it, checked the wires are good, etc. I even disabled the WiFi firewall so that I didn't have to go in and check on it.

I noticed that after all of this tinkering it still wasn't working so I SSH'd in and ran the following on the command-line:

while true; do uptime; sleep 5; done

Every time it hits the end of 14 minutes (19 sleeps on 14 minutes) the device reboots. Does anyone have any idea as to what the cause may be?

For some reason, the device does't start responding to ICMP, or allow SSH, until after it has been up and running for 4 minutes. Does it take this long for the WiFi interface to come on-line? This is one of the original Fluksos made available for US installation.

*EDIT* Here are some specs from the config page:

Chipset: Atheros AR2317
Processor: MIPS 4KEc V6.4

Gas probe possible on this meter?

I am thinking of ordering a gas probe to monitor my houses gas consumption.
Before i do i would like to know if anyone has had success with this model of gas meter (see attachment).
Meter located in Melbourne, Australia.
I will get out there with a compass and see if there is any magnetic activity but snapping a photo between patches of rain was the best i could do for the moment.

Wireless problems with FLM

I connected my FLM just over a week ago and the wireless connection must be a bit dodgy. The globe LED will stay on for a while and then go off. When I reconnect it to my PC via the Ethernet cable and go to http://192.168.255.1. And click on ‘scan’ the globe LED lights up again but only for a variable period of time.I haven’t been able to receive any data or see any graphs on flukso.net. Bart suggested that a flaky wireless connection is the problem. I live in the tropics and the meter box is outdoors downstairs and the router is inside the house upstairs. So I was thinking that as I can’t seem to connect the FLM in the outdoors meter box wirelessly to the router and an outdoors meter box may not be the best place for the FLM during the wet season, perhaps the best option would be to move it inside near the router so I could either have a better wireless connection or connect the FLM directly to the router via the Ethernet. I had an electrician install the FLM to measure the pulses (sensors 4 & 5). That would mean taking the wiring from the meter box up into the roof cavity and then down the wall to come out near the router. Does that sound like a reasonable workable option or is it a silly idea?

Cant connect to FLM, still working ok

OK Flukso working OK, readings sent to the web sites :)
I had issues some weeks back qand had to reset all and reinstall. Got it working and left alone.
Today I decided I would try to make the unit completelt wireless again.
Plugged into Flm with cable.... cant see it!
Turned off power, restart, data streams ok, still cant see Flm.

Tried SSH, same used 168.255.0.1.
Tried what my router seeit as, 168.255.0 20.

Still cannot access Flm.

I dont want to do a complete reset as it was a bugger to get going last time.
Any clues?

How long can flukso buffer data if the wifi link is down

Is it minutes? or hours ? or overnight ?

Or maybe more specifically how many samples?

( ie if had 3 ports active then it would be 1/3 of the time if only one flukso port is active)

THANKS
